40 Days of Life | Day 1 | Life and Dignity
This Lenten season I’d like to focus on life: the value of life, human dignity, new life, end of life, all things life.
While sleep awaits, light reading fills the night. Bio-ethics, the history of science, religion, and governments established by mankind, these are topics that keep me awake! Where we’ve been, where we’re at and where we’re going capture my attention, specifically with the value of human life. For 40 days, I’ll share nuggets, ideas, challenges, objections and questions about: LIFE
Day 1
You’ve heard of Corrie ten Boom. She was an incredible woman, well known for hiding and helping Jews in her home during the Holocaust. Before I knew her story, I always pictured her during the war, a young twenty-something woman fighting for a cause in all her valiant strength, beauty and grace. Turns out, she was nearly fifty at the start of the war. She accomplished much of the work she’s remembered for later in her life. Her story is inspiring. I admire her as a woman of strong conviction who believed in the dignity of human life.
This quote is a testament to her faith and experience. May we accept the challenge?
“We never know how God will answer our prayers, but we can expect that He will get us involved in His plan for the answer. If we are true intercessors, we must be ready to take part in God’s work on behalf of the people for whom we pray.”
