40 Days of Life | Day 16 | Sight for the Blind

“‘Blindness’ exists only because sight exists. If no one could see, no one would talk of blindness.” *

Both the physically and spiritually blind need sight. When Jesus was crucified, he cried out, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34)  They could see Jesus, but they were blind to the truth of who He was.  Jesus healed a blind man during his earthly ministry.  This man could not see, but he recognized Jesus, he called out to Him.  In response, Jesus tells the man, your faith has healed you.

Jesus recognizes those blind to truth. He holds men accountable for choosing blindness in the knowledge or truth. He shows mercy and forgiveness to those who do not see.  He listens to those who seek Him.  He brings light where there is darkness. It’s only because of Jesus that we may rejoice, “I once was lost, but now am found, was blind but now I see.”
